Only the light radiation within the viewing angle that satisfies the information display requirement is an effective luminous flux. In order to improve the energy efficiency of the display, the luminous flux satisfying the demand should be made higher and higher.
For the LED display, the output is the luminous flux for the audience to watch. However, unlike other photoelectric conversion devices, not all of the output luminous flux is useful, but only the luminous flux that meets the display requirements within the specified viewing angle range is the effective light output of the LED display.
The so-called specified viewing angle refers to the range of viewing angles of different types of LED displays specified in the General Specification for LED Displays or the range of viewing angles required by the contract. Products that fail to meet the "General Specification for LED Display" or contract requirements are not qualified, and beyond this range is a waste of energy, not only that, but also cause light pollution.

The LED display and module are composed of discrete LED tubes. When viewed at a practical distance, they should be surface illuminators, but in measurement, they are actually a discrete LED tube or a bundle of LEDs. The tube is measured and then calculated to determine the luminous flux.
