Backlight LED loses its advantage in lighting market and starts to weaken

According to the monthly revenue data of the Taiwanese company’s leading chip maker, June revenue was 1.962 billion New Taiwan dollars, a decrease of 13.37% from the previous quarter. The main reason is that the mainland energy saving subsidy policy expires in June, making the demand for TV manufacturers' backlight modules drop. In the second quarter of this year, the consolidated revenue was NT$1.454 billion. The decline in the backlight market was the main reason for its revenue decline.

According to the survey of experts, in June 2013, the price of LED bulbs in all regions showed a steady downward trend. The global retail price of LED bulbs that replaced 40W LED bulbs fell slightly by 2.7% to US$15.6, with the most significant decline in prices in China.

The global average price of globally replaced 60W LED bulbs dropped slightly by 1.6% to 23.4 US dollars. In Taiwan, after Toshiba entered the market with low-priced products, Philips also announced the launch of a new generation of light bulbs in July, a price drop of more than 20% compared to last year.

With the cost of lighting, the cost will be beneficial to the steady development of the lighting market, the market is expected to usher in the rapid growth of the lighting market.
