Hisense, the world's third-largest TV manufacturer, is starting to tease its upcoming smart TV lineup set to be unveiled at CES 2018. This new feature appears to include Amazon Alexa as a built-in smart assistant, with some of its existing smart TVs already supporting the integration. Notably, this also covers the 100-inch 4K laser TV that Hisense launched late last year.
Beyond the standard Alexa features like music playback, smart home control, and access to third-party skills, Hisense has revealed that users will be able to directly interact with the TV’s hardware. For example, they can switch inputs, adjust volume, or issue voice commands to control various functions seamlessly.
While Hisense hasn’t yet confirmed which specific models will get Alexa support, more details are expected to be revealed at CES next week. This move highlights the growing trend of integrating voice assistants into smart TVs, making the user experience more intuitive and hands-free.
However, Hisense isn’t the only player in this space. LG has also announced plans to bring Google Assistant to its new OLED smart TVs that will be showcased at CES 2018. With both companies pushing forward with voice-enabled smart TVs, it seems that 2018 will be a big year for AI-powered home entertainment systems.
