Access Control Intercom System
With the rapid development of technology, walkie-talkies have become increasingly popular in the security industry. This has led to the creation of door-to-door intercom systems. Access control intercom systems integrate walkie-talkie technology into access control systems, allowing users to make calls or engage in video communication. These systems typically consist of an intercom host, extension units, a UPS power supply, electric locks, and door closers. They can be categorized into different types such as direct-type, digital-type, digital household pass, direct press video intercom, digital video intercom, and digital household video intercom.
The intercom host is the central component of the building intercom system. It controls the signal transmission from each extension and manages the electric lock control signals. The host is designed with vibration and moisture-resistant features, making it highly durable and reliable. It also includes night lighting for better visibility and a sleek, elegant appearance.
The intercom extension functions as a walkie-talkie that communicates with the host. In a household system, it integrates with the host to form an internal telephone network, enabling convenient communication between residents. Extensions can be visual or non-visual and often include electric lock control and monitoring capabilities. They are usually installed at the front door, allowing residents to communicate with visitors easily.
The UPS power supply ensures continuous operation of the intercom system during power outages. Normally, it remains in a charging state, and when the power fails, it provides backup power to the system. However, many manufacturers avoid using UPS batteries due to high power consumption in visual systems, which makes it difficult for small capacity batteries to maintain long-term operation.
Electric locks operate using electromagnetic mechanisms. When the user presses the electric lock button on the extension, the coil is energized, causing the mechanism to move and unlock the door. A door closer is a specialized device that automatically closes the door after it has been opened. It features adjustable settings for speed and force, ensuring smooth and easy operation.
Working Principle
Visitors can easily call and communicate with residents through the intercom host located outside the building. Residents can then open or close the door from their indoor control unit. The community intercom system continuously monitors alarm signals from residents and sends them to the duty host, alerting security personnel. This not only enhances the safety of high-rise buildings but also greatly improves convenience for residents, reducing unnecessary trips up and down.
Operation Method
The door remains locked at all times, preventing unauthorized entry. Residents can use keys to enter and exit freely. When a guest arrives, they press the corresponding room number on the intercom panel outside the building to contact the resident. The resident then uses the intercom device to confirm the visitor's identity through voice or video. If the visitor is allowed entry, the resident can unlock the door using the extension’s button, granting access. Once inside, the door automatically relocks.
The property management’s security department can monitor the status of the intercom system across the community via the community security intercom management host. If the entrance door is tampered with or if there is a system failure, the host will trigger an alarm, displaying the location and details of the incident. Property management, residents, and neighbors can communicate through the system. For instance, the property department can inform tenants about fees, residents can report maintenance issues, and people can seek help in emergencies.
