Meikebao: Hunan should vigorously develop solar photovoltaic industry


At this stage, we will accelerate the promotion of new industrialization and the construction of a new situation and new tasks for the two-type society, and put forward higher requirements for strengthening energy security and optimizing the industrial structure. In order to win the initiative in the new round of development, Hunan must adapt to these requirements, look to the world, rely on the provincial conditions, and focus on developing new energy industries. At present, in particular, we must adhere to the advantages of priority, focus on breakthroughs, and vigorously develop the solar photovoltaic industry.

Scientifically grasp the basic situation of the development of solar photovoltaic industry

In the 21st century, global energy shortages, environmental pollution, and climate warming have increasingly plagued human society. The construction of ecological civilization has become the trend of the times, and the energy revolution is inevitable. Conventional energy sources such as oil, coal and natural gas will gradually give way to renewable energy such as biomass, wind and solar energy. In the development and utilization of renewable energy, the development and utilization of solar energy has a more important position.

First, solar energy has unparalleled superiority in renewable energy. If the 20th century is the century of oil, then the 21st century is most likely the century of solar energy. In the effective use of renewable energy, whether from the quantity of resources, the universality of distribution, the degree of cleanliness, and the reliability of technology, solar energy is superior to other renewable energy sources. Energy that is inexhaustible, pollution-free, cheap, and freely available to humans. The energy that the sun shines on Earth every second is equivalent to 5 million tons of coal, and the energy that is projected onto the Earth's surface in 40 minutes is equivalent to the sum of energy consumed by the world every year. The solar radiant energy received by China alone is equivalent to the power generation of tens of thousands of Three Gorges projects.

Second, the solar photovoltaic industry has broad prospects for development. From the perspective of energy shortage and environmental protection, photovoltaic power generation will transform from the role of supplementing conventional energy sources to partially replacing conventional energy sources to replacing conventional energy sources. Experts predict that in the next 10 years, the world's solar photovoltaic industry will maintain a compound growth rate of more than 30%; in the middle of this century, solar photovoltaic power generation will reach 15% to 20% of the world's total power generation, becoming one of the basic energy sources of human beings; By the end of the century, solar power will account for about 60% of total power generation.

Third, solar energy applications are extremely valuable. Along with the accelerated development of the solar energy industry, solar lighting, grid-connected power generation, and heat utilization have begun to be applied on a large scale around the world, especially in the application of solar lighting. In recent years, many countries and regions have vigorously implemented the Sunshine Plan and have developed LED lighting plans. LED is the abbreviation of Light Emitting Diode. This is an internationally recognized next-generation solid-state lighting source with remarkable features such as energy saving, high efficiency, longevity, environmental protection, and no radiation. Its power consumption is only one tenth of that of traditional light sources, and its life span is 10 times that of ordinary incandescent lamps. According to the US Department of Energy, by the year 2010, 55% of incandescent and fluorescent lamps in the United States will be replaced by semiconductor LEDs, saving $35 billion in annual electricity bills. In a sense, LED is the third revolution in human lighting after kerosene lamps and lamps.

The Party Central Committee and the State Council have reviewed the situation and attached great importance to the development and utilization of solar photovoltaic products. Promoting technological innovation and solving the high cost of solar power generation is the key to large-scale development and utilization of solar energy. In the new Medium- and Long-Term Plan for Renewable Energy, China proposes that by 2010, China's total solar photovoltaic power generation capacity will reach 400,000 kilowatts, and in 2020, it will reach 2.2 million kilowatts. China's current production capacity accounts for 16.7% of the world. Experts predict that photovoltaic power generation will occupy a major position in China's future energy supply. By 2050, the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation is likely to reach 1 billion kilowatts. This means that the annual installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation will exceed the sum of the previous years, and domestic demand will become very strong. The introduction of new plans and policies will effectively promote the rapid development of China's solar photovoltaic industry.

As far as Hunan is concerned, the development of solar photovoltaic industry is particularly urgent. On the one hand, our province lacks coal and electricity, has no oil and no gas, and the energy supply is very tight. We must accelerate the development of alternative energy sources, develop new energy sources, and support economic and social development. Otherwise, new industrialization and new urbanization will become empty talk. On the other hand, the heavy chemical industry in our province is more important, the task of energy conservation and emission reduction is heavy, and the adjustment of economic structure is imperative. The development of solar photovoltaic industry is beneficial to the existing raw materials, equipment technology, industrial support and talent team in the province. We will establish a new modern industrial system with high-end, clustering and intensification as the main features, accelerate economic restructuring, and promote new industrialization and construction of a two-oriented society.
