Research on Test Method of Pavement Brightness Based on Imaging Luminance Meter

1 Introduction


With the popularization of LED street lamps, a large number of newly installed LED street lamps require pavement performance testing. According to the current road lighting design standard CJJ45-2006, the road surface quality performance indicators include road surface average brightness, road surface brightness uniformity, road surface brightness uniformity, road surface average illumination, road surface illumination uniformity, road surface maintenance average brightness (illuminance), Glare threshold increment, environmental ratio, etc. Due to the complexity of the test method, most of the LED street lamp performance test is based on the illuminance index. There are few studies on the brightness performance test. There are fewer tests for the LED street light to test the road surface brightness according to the standard method.

Road surface brightness is one of the important parameters for evaluating the quality of road surface lighting. The road surface brightness test in CJJ45-2006 standard measures the brightness value of each point on the pre-set point on the road surface according to the relevant regulations of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE). Based on this, the average brightness of the road surface, the total uniformity of the road surface brightness, and the longitudinal uniformity of the road surface brightness are calculated. Due to the high environmental requirements for the test during the brightness test, the vehicle on the road will have a greater impact on the road surface brightness test of the LED street light. Therefore, the test needs to be closed, because the CIE requires more test points on the road surface. 30 points

For each test segment, testing a 4-lane road requires nearly one hour of testing time. Therefore, the road surface brightness test will cause greater obstacles to normal road traffic.

In order to solve the problems faced by the road surface brightness test, Dongguan Quality Inspection Center has built an outdoor LED street lamp test field in accordance with the relevant standards of CIE. Through the construction of the test field, it has achieved the “unified test environment and unified test of the road surface lighting quality test of LED street lamps. In this paper, we cooperated with Konica Minolta to study how to test the brightness related performance of pavement based on imaging luminance meter, and give the test results. The research in this paper proposes a new idea for the road surface brightness test of LED street lamps, and provides experimental data for the standard research of LED street lamp illumination quality test.

2 Overview of road surface brightness test methods

2.1 CIE road surface brightness test method
