Recently, the European Commission's Non-Food Rapid Alert System (RAPEX) notified the quality of a Chinese LED downlight. The case was reported in Finland. The notified product is a Chinese-made Faro Barcelona brand LED downlight with a 6-9 watt power supply with a product code of 8421776085404 and an economic cooperation and development organization OECD Portal Category of 78000000 ( Electrical appliances).
The product has serious quality risks, the insulation of its power components is not up to standard, and the creepage distance between the first and second levels is too small, posing a risk of electric shock to consumers. This product does not comply with the requirements of the EU Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standards EN60598 and EN61347.
At present, the EU has taken mandatory measures to withdraw from the market and recall the above products.
