Method of optimizing AutoCAD system

Method of optimizing AutoCAD system

First, optimize the Windows system
1. Clean up the maintenance disk and optimize the performance of the Windows system. If AutoCAD fails, it may cause abnormal withdrawal of the swap file and loss of some disk clusters. The Windows system automatically checks for missing disk clusters when it starts. If you do not want to restart the system, you can run chkdsk from the command line.
2. Defragment disk and optimize Windows system performance. What is disk fragmentation? The various parts of the same disk file are scattered in different areas of the disk. When the old files are deleted from the disk and new files are added, fragmentation will occur. It slows down the access speed of the disk and reduces the overall performance of the disk. Just like the same novel is not printed on consecutive pages, but "Go to xxx page" needs to appear every few lines. When AutoCAD is running, it is necessary to create certain temporary files on the disk. If it is distributed among the disk fragments, it will naturally reduce the speed.
Run "Disk Defragmenter" to defragment the disk?
Second, optimize the AutoCAD system
1. Optimize 2D polylines and associative fills created by AutoCAD R13 or earlier versions. Since R14, AutoCAD creates 2D polylines and associative fills in an optimized format. This optimized format can save memory and disk space. Use the CONVERT command to update hatch patterns or polylines created by AutoCAD R13 and earlier versions.
2. Delete the unused named objects in the graphics database, effectively reduce the size of the graphics file as time passes, and some useless named objects (objects not drawn in the diagram) may accumulate in the graphics. For example, text styles that are no longer used for graphic text, or layers that do not contain any graphic objects; even more, they contain huge unused tiles. The cleanup operation deletes only one level of references. It may need to be repeated three times to complete the cleaning operation. Note that if you start to clean up the waste, you may clean up the defined drawing template.
3. Marshalling will seriously affect the speed of selection operations. It should be deleted that the marshalling is a named object selection set. Unlike the unnamed selection set, the marshalling is saved with the graphic. The group is a named object, but unfortunately it cannot be cleared with the PURGE command. If you delete an object or delete it from a group to make the group empty, the group still retains the original definition. If there are a large number of empty groups, the selection speed is seriously affected.
4. Online version optimization
Whether AutoCAD is installed on a network server or a client workstation, users can share the data on the server's hard disk and store the graphics they do not want to share on the local hard disk. Both methods have their advantages. Installing AutoCAD on the client workstation can optimize network performance. Installing AutoCAD on the server allows users to share an executable file, which saves disk space and greatly simplifies software installation and upgrades. You can also combine client installation and server installation according to your own network configuration.
5. On-demand loading and optimizing the performance of external references By using on-demand loading and saving of indexed graphics, the performance of graphics containing external references can be improved. When on-demand loading is turned on, if the index has been saved in the reference drawing, AutoCAD will only load the data related to regenerating the current drawing into the memory from the reference drawing. In other words, the referenced material is read as needed. The excellent performance of on-demand loading is as follows: (1) Trim the external reference to display a small part of it, and the spatial index has been saved in the external reference graphic; (2) Freeze several layers of the external reference, and the layer index Save with external reference graphics.
6. Load other geometric shapes into the partially opened graphics. If you are dealing with a very large shape, you can use the "Local Open" option to select the objects in the views and layers to be processed in the graphics (graphic objects only). After the graphic is partially opened, you can use the PARTIALOAD command to load other geometric shapes from the view, selected area, or layer into the graphic.
7. Other operating skills
(1) Freeze or close the layer When the layer is frozen, AutoCAD does not refresh the object database on the frozen layer, thereby increasing the speed. When the layer is closed, it is convenient to operate and does not need to be regenerated.
(2) The complexity of turning off visible element graphics will affect the speed of AutoCAD refreshing the screen or processing commands. If you need to improve the performance of the program, you can turn off text, line width, fill, highlight selection, and point markers.
(3) Change the location of the temporary swap file The Temp directory of Windows is the default location of the temporary swap file. You can find the "Temporary Graphics File Location" in the "File" tab of the "Options" dialog box. You can specify different directories by adding entries.
(4) Manage raster images, such as temporarily unloading images, detaching images that are no longer needed in graphics, and controlling image display quality.
(5) Temporarily uninstall external references.
(6) Use SHX font to replace TTF font.
(7) Control proper display performance.
☆ Use virtual screen to reduce regeneration.
☆ Display accuracy. You can use the VIEWRES command and FACETRES system variables to control the display accuracy of circles, arcs, and ellipses.
☆ It is forbidden to shift and zoom with raster images. The system variable RTDISPLAY = 1.
☆ Only highlight the border of the raster image. IMAGEHLT = 0.
☆ Turn off solid filling. FILLMODE = 0.
(8) Adding RAM is the most effective way to improve system performance. Installing more RAM can reduce the need for AutoCAD to use temporary swap and page scheduling to achieve the purpose of optimizing performance.
(9) If the memory is small, the permanent swap file is used, which is faster than the temporary swap file. The hard disk reserves a certain space for system buffering.
(10) For large three-dimensional images, forcing AutoCAD to treat objects in the model space as two-dimensional objects can make more efficient use of memory. The relevant system variables are TREEMAX and TREEDEPTH.
3. Expand the software and enrich the professional knowledge
(1) Use professional software based on AutoCAD platform. AutoCAD can draw any complex graphics, but AUTODESK never recommends that users use the most basic commands to draw one stroke at a time.
(2) Using genuine software to support the development of the CAD business, new products will surely enhance your company's productivity.
(3) Do a good job in the system planning of the working group or the company, and make full use of the advantages of user customization.
(4) Participate in AUTODESK certification training to improve the overall CAD design team's ability.
