The US Department of Energy plans to release the draft standard for LED replacement lamps in December, and qualified products will be eligible for Energy Star.
In an e-mail, Richard Karney, the US Energy Department's ENERGY STAR program manager, told ENERGY STAR's partner shareholders that the LED replacement lamp draft standard will be released in December this year.
On March 21, 2008, DOE announced that it will develop Energy Star standards for many types of solid-state lighting products, including solid-state lighting replacement lamps. Subsequently, on August 15, 2008, DOE reaffirmed the ENERGY STAR standard for solid-state lighting replacement lamps when it released the additional Class A product draft standard, pointing out that it takes more time to investigate alternative lamp technology. The replacement lamp standard will be 8 The A product released on the 15th of the month was separated and carried out separately, and the timetable for the replacement lamp standard will be released in the future.
At the end of the year, the DOE will spend 45 days consulting the draft standard. The DOE plans to officially implement the final draft standard in the summer of 2009.
