15 years ago, Meiya bought a G700S mouse. After some time, it started to malfunction—double-clicking without any reason. It couldn't stand on its own anymore. The earliest model was the G500S, which had a double-layer PCB board. That design was quite fragile; even a small micro-motion could damage the board. So, for the G700S, a solution was needed: using a slot to separate the two layers of the PCB board. To do this, Shangma Bao bought a few 2.0 double-row female connectors so that the upper PCB could be detached and adjusted slightly.
1. Prepare the tools: 2.0 double-row male and female connectors, screwdriver, soldering iron, rosin, solder wire, desoldering pump, multimeter, foot stick, and brush.
2. Remove the foot stick by unscrewing the five screws located under the feet. Make sure not to lose or mix up any screws.
3. Use a brush to clean out dust and debris from inside the mouse. Cleaning is an essential step, but I won’t go into too much detail here.
4. Carefully remove the 4-pin socket connecting the top and bottom PCB boards.
5. Once everything is completely removed, you can move on to the next step.
6. Take out the horizontal axis of the scroll wheel. This part must be lifted up before it can be pulled out. Be careful—this is a crucial step. If you pull it incorrectly, you might break it.
7. Once the horizontal axis is removed, the scroll wheel can be taken out as well.
8. There are two springs in front of the wheel. These are very important—don’t lose them. Their importance is second only to the PCB board itself.
9. Remove the four screws and two springs from the first layer PCB board.
10. Then, remove the right-side double-row solder joint with 14 holes and clear away the remaining solder.
11. Now, replace the micro-motion switch. This is a delicate step and requires attention to detail.
12. Remove the four screws at the bottom and the double-row pin. No need to describe this step in detail.
13. Install the 2.0 double-row female connector on the bottom PCB board.
14. Install the 2.0 double-row male pin on the top PCB board and reattach the micro-motion switch. Pay close attention to the orientation—left-click switches should be installed correctly. I won’t mention the brand name to avoid any advertising suspicions.
15. Once everything is reassembled, plug it back in and reattach the foot stickers.
In summary, the long-term solution to the issue was replacing the micro PCB with a double-layer board. This method makes it easier to swap out the micro-switches without damaging the entire board. The original micro-switch used was an Omron 7N 20M. I’m not sure why it didn’t last very long, but after the modification, the mouse works smoothly again.
Vertical Light Tower
A vertical light tower is a tall structure that is designed to provide high-intensity lighting for various purposes. It typically consists of a vertical pole or mast with multiple light fixtures mounted at different heights. The tower is usually made of durable materials such as steel or aluminum to withstand harsh weather conditions.
Vertical light towers are commonly used in construction sites, outdoor events, sports fields, and emergency situations where temporary lighting is required. They provide bright and uniform illumination over a large area, making them ideal for nighttime operations or areas with limited natural light.
These towers are often portable and can be easily transported and set up at different locations. They may have adjustable heights and angles to direct the light where it is needed most. Some models also come with additional features such as telescopic masts, generators, and remote control systems for convenient operation.
Vertical light towers can be powered by various sources such as electricity, diesel, or solar energy. They are designed to be energy-efficient, minimizing power consumption while providing maximum brightness. Some models also incorporate advanced technologies such as LED lights, which offer longer lifespan and lower maintenance requirements compared to traditional lighting options.
Overall, vertical light towers are essential tools for illuminating large areas and ensuring safety and productivity in various industries and applications.
