ValenceTech has introduced the AP711 to expand its CD MP3/WMA decoder product line and enter the boombox market with analog radio. Veyron is infiltrating a wide variety of boombox markets, because the boombox is the perfect place to enjoy different kinds of music with different people anytime, anywhere, and to let the audience feel the music is full of space.Compared to the previously introduced AP701, the AP711 is also a CD MP3/WMA Decoder. It can decode MP3 and WMA files, built-in USB host controller and SD/MMC card interface, and support CD playback. The chip is easy to use because it allows system designers to easily change software via CD or USB master control mode. This on-chip system is suitable for lower cost and boombox with analog radio. The AP701 differs from the AP711 in that it has a built-in PLL controller for digital tuning systems and supports CD and different memory designs. The latter is dedicated to CD-based audio systems.
The AP711's CD features include shock protection, support for various CD mechanisms, and external memory such as EDO DRAM (1Mx4/4Mx4) and SDRAM (1Mx16/2Mx8/16Mx4/4Mx16/8Mx8).
The MP3 decoding feature of the chip supports 16/22.05/24/32/44.1/48kHz sampling frequency and a maximum bit rate of 320kbps. It also supports version 2.4 of MP3 ID3.
As for WMA decoding, it can support 32/44.1/48kHz sampling frequency and 64kbps to 320kbps bit rate. It also supports mono, stereo, stereo, and joint stereo audio playback.
The AP711's USB and SD card interface features include direct connection to the USB mass storage device in the host for playback. It also interprets the files of USB devices.
