San Jose, Calif., December 3, 2015 - Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: CY) today announced its easy-to-use single-mode PSoC® 4 BLE programmable system-on-chip and PRoCTM The BLE programmable on-chip RF system solution is the first in the world to receive full-featured Bluetooth 4.2 certification. This certification will bring three key benefits to the Internet of Things (IoT), including:
· Data length expansion - maximum data transfer rate of up to 800Kbps, 2.5 times faster than Bluetooth 4.1
· LE Privacy - Privacy protection has been upgraded to allow users to specify trusted transmission sources to prevent being tracked
· LE secure connection - enhances the security of users when establishing a connection, avoiding eavesdropping attacks
These features make Cypress's BLE solution available for a wider range of IoT applications.

PRoC BLE is a low-power Bluetooth smart microprocessor that integrates Cypress's industry-leading CapSense® capacitive touch sensing capabilities, while PSoC 4 BLE simplifies sensor and actuator integration by adding intelligent simulation and simplification Programmable digital modules that increase design flexibility. Both solutions integrate smart Bluetooth RF, ultra-low power, high performance 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0 core, 256KB of flash, 32KB of SRAM, direct memory access (DMA), 36 GPIOs, and customizable Serial communication modules, timers and counters. Customers who design using these two solutions can apply for a Bluetooth logo on their products by reference to the Cypress Certification Number.

Cypress has simplified the BLE stack and configuration into a royalty-free, GUI-based BLE component. This component is a free embedded integrated circuit in PSoC. Users can drag and drop the component icon in the Cypress PSoC CreatorTM Integrated Design Environment (IDE) to place it in the design. PSoC Creator embeds application details for Cypress's BLE components, including all samples supporting BLE configurations and hundreds of sample projects for mixed-signal system design. Simply use a PSoC Creator software to complete the system design and speed time to market. In addition, Cypress offers several development tools to aid design.
Availability
Samples are available for the new PSoC 4 BLE (CY8C4xx8-BL5xx) and PRoC BLE (CYBL11x7x). The new product is pin-compatible with Cypress's current Bluetooth low-power solution and is easy to upgrade.
