As of a few days ago, in the past three years, the intelligent inspection robot for substations independently developed and produced by Shandong Electric Power Research Institute has safely carried out more than 1,400 inspection tasks at Zhaoqing Converter Station in Guangzhou, capturing about 180,000 effective pictures, including visible light. There are 35,000 pictures and 145,000 infrared thermal images. Based on this, three defects were found and reported to the police, which made great contributions to the long-term safety production of Zhaoqing Converter Station.

In 2009, the robot inspection system was officially put into operation, with intelligent inspection robots as the core, integrating robot technology, non-contact detection of power equipment, multi-sensor fusion, pattern recognition, Internet of Things and other technologies, to achieve all-weather, omnidirectional and Self-service intelligent inspection and monitoring, which can detect equipment temperature, appearance, opening and closing status of knife gate, instrument, equipment noise, etc., and pass information such as inspection content, time, route to the background in real time, greatly improving inspection automation, Intelligent level. The application of a single inspection robot can reduce the actual workload of personnel by about 26 hours per week, saving an average of 4 hours of social labor time per day, greatly reducing the time cost.

"In bad weather or unexpected situations, you can remotely inspect the robot to any device point in the station, or click the problem device on the display screen with the mouse, and the inspection robot can autonomously conduct special patrols along the optimal path. In 2011, the company upgraded the intelligent inspection robot inspection system, added sound collection and image analysis functions on the basis of the original functions, and replaced the automatic charging room that is more suitable for the southern climate, and the wireless communication that resists DC field interference Equipment, more stable video acquisition unit, etc. It is very conducive to accelerating the intelligent process of the converter (transformation) station, and further improves the work efficiency and quality.

At present, there are more than 20 inspection robots "posting" in substations in Beijing, Shaanxi, Guangxi and other places, covering North China Power Grid, Northwest Power Grid, East China Power Grid and South China Power Grid, as well as AC and DC substations of various voltage levels from 220kV to 1000kV . The longest service time has reached 7 years, and the various operating indicators are normal. They have withstood the test of harsh environments such as high temperature, strong winds, and heavy rain, and carried out inspection tasks in the station, which not only greatly reduced the inspection workload of the operation and maintenance personnel of the substation, but also accurately found dozens of hidden hazards such as thermal defects in the station equipment. Timely alarming provides a basis for the operation and maintenance personnel to carry out equipment maintenance, and guarantees the safe and reliable operation of the power grid, which has been recognized and praised by the majority of users.
