[High-tech LED News] Stanley Electric exhibited a new generation of high-power white LEDs for automotive headlamps at CEATEC JAPAN 2011.
The existing white LED has a luminous flux of 450 lm and a luminous efficiency of 60 lm/W, and the new generation of products scheduled for mass production in 2012 has been increased to 1000 to 1200 lm and 70 lm/W, respectively. The thermal resistance has dropped to a standard of 1.7 ° C / W which is 23% smaller than the existing products.
LED headlamp assemblies can be lightweighted with a new generation of products. The car headlights use three white LEDs on one side, while the new generation requires only two white LEDs. According to Stanley Electric, the new product can be reduced to 400g compared to the current 1000g.
Stanley Electric plans to achieve a luminous flux of 1600 lm after 2014 and a luminous efficiency of 85 lm/W. When using this white LED, the headlamp assembly can meet the brightness requirement with a white LED. In terms of input power at 1000 lm, the existing product is 17W, and the new generation product is 14W, and the product after 2014 is only 12W.
