LG DD direct drive washing machine motor production reached 70 million

As one of the key building blocks of the intelligent era, the demand for MEMS sensors has seen significant growth in recent years. Industry forecasts suggest that the market could surpass $10 billion by 2019, with a compound annual growth rate of around 11.2%. Among various sectors, consumer electronics have emerged as a major driver of MEMS sensor adoption. According to a report by Yole Developpement, the global market for MEMS sensors in consumer electronics is expected to reach $6.4 billion by 2018.

At the recently concluded 2018 Munich Shanghai Electronics Show, Bosch Sensortec, a leading global supplier of MEMS sensors, introduced three new high-performance products tailored for the Chinese market. These include the BMA400, a low-power accelerometer ideal for wearable devices; the BMI085, a high-precision inertial measurement unit (IMU) designed for AR/VR applications; and an interactive projection module aimed at enhancing user interfaces in IoT-enabled devices. These launches mark a strategic move to further expand Bosch's presence in the growing consumer technology space.

During a press conference titled “Vientiane Core, Smart Future” held alongside the event, Leopold Beer, President of Bosch Sensortec Asia Pacific, shared insights on the evolving MEMS landscape. He noted that while the global MEMS market is currently valued at approximately $5 billion, it extends beyond automotive applications into mobile phones, consumer electronics, and industrial sectors. “Smartphones already incorporate a wide range of sensors, such as gyroscopes, pressure, temperature, and humidity sensors,” he said. “However, the future growth of MEMS will not be limited to smartphones. Wearable devices, AR/VR, smart glasses, and other emerging technologies are key areas where Bosch plans to invest heavily.”
