One key initiative is the comprehensive upgrade of content through the “1+N+1” strategy. The first “1” refers to a large-scale content cooperation platform—Tencent Video. The “N” represents multiple large content partners, such as 4K Garden, 1905 Film Network, and Ricky Animation. Currently, 10 content platforms have partnered with TCL to offer differentiated content. The final “1” is an integrated broadcast control platform, namely the licensee. After a year of preparation, TCL officially partnered with South New Media, marking the first in-depth collaboration between TV manufacturers and licensees under a strategic model of “capital cooperation + resource integration + team collaboration.” Yao Juncheng, Senior Vice President of Guangdong New Media South, strongly supported this partnership.
Today, TCL Smart TV has over 2 million paid subscribers. To enhance user experience, TCL launched the “Hui” service. This service not only allows users to watch updated content early and skip ads during boot-up, but also enables seamless access across apps using a single account. Users can enjoy consistent membership benefits across video, music, and other apps without constantly logging in.
Beyond content, TCL is also leveraging artificial intelligence to improve user experience. AI brings two major changes: revolutionizing interaction methods and increasing data utilization efficiency. With AI 2.0 Plus, TCL improves comprehension, retrieval, and service delivery, making it easier for users to find what they need. Additionally, face recognition and multi-modal user systems enable personalized content recommendations. These innovations are powered by an open ecosystem that collaborates with companies like Baidu, Tencent, HKUST, Shangtang, and Cognizance. Jing Ye, General Manager of Baidu Distinctive Department, emphasized that the technical collaboration with TCL will significantly impact the smart TV industry and China’s AI development.
To support its time planning vision, TCL introduced three new products: the X5 Primary Color Quantum Dot TV, the C6 New Theater TV, and the P5 Slim Surface TV. The X5 combines technology and artistic beauty, aiming to bring elegant artwork into the living room of modern elites. It features quantum dot technology for vibrant colors, Dolby Vision HDR for enhanced visuals, and a Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos for immersive audio.
