The short-term surge in output still faces challenges in the price advantage of domestic robots!

At the closing ceremony of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, a group of 24 "Ice Screen" robots developed by Chinese company Xinsong made their debut. These robots not only performed synchronized movements but also danced with human performers and interacted with stage projections, showcasing a blend of technology and art. This remarkable display marked the first time that domestic Chinese robots performed complex dance moves on an international stage, highlighting the growing capabilities of China's robotics industry. The performance was a highlight of the "8 Minutes for Beijing" segment, where the robots symbolically carried the spirit of the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics from Pyeongchang to Beijing. The integration of robotics into such a high-profile event demonstrated the potential of smart automation in entertainment and beyond. In recent years, China has seen rapid growth in robotic applications, particularly in industrial automation. Factories are increasingly adopting robots, leading many to believe that China is becoming a major player in robot manufacturing. However, while the country has made impressive progress, challenges remain—especially in terms of cost competitiveness and technological depth. Despite this, the government has been actively supporting the robotics sector through favorable policies. As a result, the industrial robot market in China has experienced significant growth. According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), China’s industrial robot density has risen sharply, and the country is expected to become one of the top ten automated nations by 2020. In 2017 alone, China produced over 131,000 industrial robots, marking a 51% increase compared to the previous year. Projections indicate that sales will continue to grow, with estimates reaching 160,000 units in 2018, 195,000 in 2019, and 238,000 in 2020, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 22%. Domestic companies like Xinsong, Estun, and others have also benefited from this boom. Their financial results showed strong revenue growth, with some reporting net profits exceeding 400 million yuan in 2017. This success highlights the increasing maturity of China's robotics industry and its growing influence on the global stage.
