Important Notes on Using the Asphalt Trichloroethylene Recovery Instrument:
- Always check the pH value of the solvent being distilled. If the pH value is below 5, it may cause complete damage to the internal components of the recycler. In such cases, the distillation chamber should be cleaned by a qualified technician.
- Ensure that the outer casing of the instrument is properly grounded during operation.
- Never leave the instrument unattended while it is in use.
- When cleaning the instrument, always disconnect the power supply and avoid water coming into contact with electrical components.
How to Use the Instrument:
- When the electric heating is activated, the electric resistance wire converts electrical energy into heat, which warms up the trichloroethylene pitch solution placed in the container.
- Once the solution reaches the boiling point of trichloroethylene (86.7°C), the liquid begins to vaporize due to molecular motion. At this stage, impurities like asphalt remain in the solution because they have a higher boiling point than trichloroethylene. The evaporation process is a heating process, and even though the heater continues to operate, the temperature of the solution remains constant. When all the trichloroethylene has been evaporated, the remaining bitumen is left in the right chamber of the container. The trichloroethylene gas then moves into the left cavity through the space above the container. The cooling system in the left cavity condenses the vapor back into liquid form, which is collected in the left chamber, completing the recovery of trichloroethylene.
