The new BYD Qin has undergone a comprehensive redesign, both in terms of exterior and interior, giving the car a more modern and tech-savvy look. This update not only enhances the visual appeal but also improves the overall driving experience. One of the most significant improvements is the increase in pure electric range, which now reaches up to 80 kilometers—up from 70 kilometers in the previous model. This advancement makes the new Qin even more efficient and suitable for daily urban use.
After its official launch, the new BYD Qin is set to strengthen the company's position as a leading brand in China's new energy vehicle market. With a post-subsidy price of 149,900 yuan, it offers great value for money, especially with its upgraded features and performance.
Inside the cabin, the design has been completely overhauled. The highlight is the 12.8-inch central touchscreen, which replaces many physical buttons and streamlines the user interface. It comes with the Carpad intelligent system, supporting 4G connectivity and WiFi sharing. The system also includes 360-degree panoramic view, navigation, and entertainment functions, making the driving experience more interactive and convenient.
The steering wheel has also been redesigned, with all the key controls now positioned at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions. This layout makes operation more intuitive and user-friendly compared to the previous version.
In terms of design, the new BYD Qin retains the general styling of the previously released Qin 100. However, the logo has been updated to the Chinese character “Qin,†and the front grille features a slimmer chrome finish with more defined facets. The lower bumper has been redesigned with a horizontal trim, adding a more dynamic and refined look to the front end.
Under the hood, the new Qin still uses the 1.5T plug-in hybrid powertrain, maintaining the same peak power output of 217 kW and torque of 479 Nm. The fuel efficiency remains impressive, with a combined consumption of just 1.4 liters per 100 km, thanks to the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. These upgrades ensure that the new BYD Qin is not only more powerful but also more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
