Jiangxi Ruijin is not only known as the "Red Capital," the cradle of the Chinese Republic, and the former seat of the Soviet government, but it's also a green city with rich natural resources. As a national historical and cultural city, Ruijin has been recognized as one of China's e-commerce in rural demonstration counties, a city directly under Jiangxi Province, and one of the top five civilized cities in the province. Beyond its deep "red heritage," the city is also leading the way in urban information technology and smart infrastructure development.
Recently, Shanghai Sansi, a company renowned for its intelligent integrated systems such as smart street lighting, has partnered with several top tech firms. With strong technical capabilities, detailed innovation strategies, and excellent qualifications, the consortium successfully secured the bid for the Ruijin Smart Digital City Management Project.
The project, with a total investment of 51.43 million yuan, covers an area of 25 square kilometers. It follows the standards set by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, specifically the "City Municipal Comprehensive Supervision Information System Management Component and Event Classification and Coding and Data Requirements" (CJ/T214-2007). The initiative includes the implementation of a smart lighting system, featuring nearly 10,000 intelligent street lamps with various functional modules. This forms the backbone of the city's digital management system, enabling intelligent collection and analysis of urban events and components, smart parking, road illumination, night-time lighting management, infrastructure monitoring, wireless WiFi, and other integrated smart systems such as sanitation, vehicle scheduling, waste transportation, property management, advertising approval, and emergency command support.
Through this project, Ruijin is enhancing its urban management network, promoting hardware intensification, and optimizing the management of public facilities. The project provides a solid platform for digitizing city management, improving service efficiency, and protecting online resources, significantly boosting the city's overall operational efficiency.
Moreover, the project serves as a model for seamless integration between government processes and smart hardware, offering a cost-effective and quickly deployable solution for smart city development. It also offers valuable insights and references for the top-level design of China’s pan-virtual city management projects and similar initiatives across the country.
Shanghai Sansi and Zhongzhicheng (Suzhou) are leading participants in the Ministry of Science and Technology's 13th Five-Year Key R&D Program on "Key Technology and System Integration of Outdoor Smart Lighting." Shanghai Sansi's Smart Street Light was awarded the first prize in the 2017 China Lighting Association Science and Technology Innovation Award, known as the "Zhongzhao Lighting Award."
